Besan Barfi

Delicious & Super easy homemade besan ( gram flour or chickpea flour)barfi.


Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups gram flour( besan)

1/2 cup ghee ( clarified butter )

1/4 th cup semolina ( sooji)

1/4 th teaspoon cardamon powder

1/2 cup powder sugar

Garnish with slivered almonds & pistachios


In a pan add ghee and let it melt then add the flour and keep stirring as you don't want it to burn but in low to medium heat keep stirring and make sure it doesn't stick. Once the ghee starts separating and is nicely golden brown add the sugar and cardamon powder. Continue stirring and then switch off the gas make sure it's nicely mixed and is deep golden in color. In a flat baking pan or a dish put some wax paper in the bottom and move the roasted mixture to it and let it set in room temperature for a few hours. While it's still warm garnish with pistachios and almonds and just prepare the cuts so when it's cool you can easily cut it.

Enjoy with green tea or as a snack too with coffee or after dinner. It has a. Lot of health benefits.
