Choley( Garbanzo or chickpeas curry)

Garbanzo beans cooked with indian spices


Ingredients- 1 cup garbanzo beans soaked overnight

1 medium chopped red onions

2 chopped tomatoes

3 1/2 cup warm water with tea bag

1 teaspoon grated ginger

salt according to taste

1/2 red chilli powder 1/2 kashmiri masala

1 black cardamon

2 cloves

1 cinnamom stick


1/4th teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon cumin and coriander powder

In saute mode-in instant pot add 4 tablespoons of avocado oil, let it warm up and add the whole spices-cardamon, cinnamon and cloves then add the chopped onions till it is golden brown . Now add the ginger and tomatoes keep stirring. Add the dry spices and salt and the tea water . Tuen the saute mode off. Drain the soaked beans and add it to the instantpot. Put it on manual pressure for 10 minutes. Let it cool down. Open the lid and serve with rice or roti.
